With the threat of severe weather and potential tornadoes this evening, several places in Daviess, McLean, and Hancock counties will open their doors as emergency shelters.
Those planning to seek shelter are strongly encouraged to go when a Tornado Watch is issued or sooner, rather than waiting for a Tornado Warning, which is issued when a tornado has been sighted or indicated by radar.

Daviess County

Go through door to the basement on the left side of the church. - Heritage Baptist Church

Open from 5:30 p.m. until threat has passed
Park in the front parking lot and enter the main doors.
McLean County

Enter and exit through the front door. Residents are encouraged to bring a folding chair as seating is limited on the first floor.
Officials ask residents to note that while the courthouse is a strong, safe building, it is not a certified storm shelter. - Other shelters per community
