School systems in the area have announced updates regarding closures and NTI days for Tuesday due to the numerous roads that remain flooded.
Daviess County Public Schools
DCPS will be in session as normal on Tuesday, April 8.
Hancock County Public Schools
HCPS made the following announcement on its district Facebook page:
Hancock County Schools will be closed for in-person instruction for the rest of the week starting tomorrow Tuesday, April 8th, 2025. The National Weather Service has predicted the flood levels will continue to rise throughout the week, with an expected crest sometime Thursday morning. The predicted levels will rival those of the 1997 flood. We will be utilizing our Disaster Relief NTI Days that were approved in the last legislative session. We will be using Disaster Relief NTI Day 11, 12, 13, and 14. Stay safe.
Hancock Christian Academy
HCA made the following announcement:
While the local public school district will be using NTI (non-traditional instruction) days for the remainder of the week (April 8-11, 2025), HCA will remain in session with our regular schedule.
McLean County Public Schools
MCPS made the following announcement on its district Facebook page:
McLean County Schools will be on Disaster NTI Day 2 tomorrow, Tuesday, April 8th. Please follow your school’s NTI plan.
Ohio County Public Schools
According to a district Facebook post, OCPS will observe NTI Day 5 on Tuesday.
Owensboro Catholic Schools
OCS made the following announcement:
Owensboro Catholic schools will be in session on Tuesday, April 8, 2025. Central Office and Scrip will be open.
Saint Mary of the Woods School, Mary Carrico Catholic School, and Trinity High School
SMWS, MCCS, and THS will be in session tomorrow.
Owensboro Public Schools
OPS will be in session.
