Here’s the latest on which school systems in the area have announced updates regarding closures, NTI days, or in-person classes for Monday.

Daviess County Public Schools

Daviess County Public Schools will be in session. The message posted on the DCPS Facebook page reads as follows:

We understand and deeply empathize that some families in our community are heavily affected by flooding; we want to express our sincere concern for those impacted. We realize conditions everywhere are not perfect and areas of our county (especially west county), sadly, are still dealing with flooding and road closures. Our thoughts and prayers are with these communities.

Based on current road conditions throughout the county, we feel confident that conditions allow for learning to occur in our school buildings. Therefore, Daviess County Public Schools will be in session tomorrow, April 14th. Our teams have monitored the roadways and conditions across the county have improved to the point we feel we can resume normal operations tomorrow. We firmly believe that in-person learning is best for our students. Additionally, it allows children to experience normalcy and receive support during a difficult time. Please know that we will be understanding of absences and tardies due to these circumstances. Your safety remains our top priority.

We look forward to tomorrow. Thankfully, the forecast for the week indicates expected improvement in the water levels lending optimism for the possibility of normal operations this week. Please contact your school administration if you have any questions or concerns.
