Hancock County tennis splits with Butler County

Lucas Anderson and Tyce Boling both won their singles matches 8-0 en route to the Hornets’ 5-0 win over Butler County, while the Lady Hornets lost 4-1. Anderson, Boling, and Payne Pence all won their singles matches, while the doubles teams of Preston Blanton and Caleb Ewing and Tre London and Van Reska both won. For the Lady Hornets, the doubles team of Kylie Bowlds and Audrie Morris won 8-5.

“It was a great win for the boys, everyone competed well,” Hancock County head coach Dan Hopkins said. “Payne is now 3-0 in Varsity singles, and we are 8-2 on the season. The Butler County girls are stronger this year with the addition of two foreign exchange students. Our top doubles team of Audrie and Kylie continue to play well together.”
