Owensboro Catholic Middle School will use NTI days for the remainder of the week as crews continue to address hail damage.

A message from Owensboro Catholic Schools reads:

As you know, Owensboro Catholic Middle School received significant damage during the storm on Saturday, March 16th.  Most of the damage is contained to the roof.  Over the weekend, OCS Maintenance and school personnel worked tirelessly to contain the leaks and extract the water from the building. Yesterday, we met with the adjuster and the Diocese to determine our next steps.  In the next couple of days, we will work to repair the damage on the roof and take precautions to make sure the building is safe for students to return.  Today, a roofing company is going to clean and repair the roof damage until a new roof can be put on later.  We are also using the company, SERVPRO (a cleaning, restoration, and construction business) to focus on the inside of the building. No signs of mold have been found. They will be using dehumidifiers along with air scrubbers to remove the moisture in the building and do any remediation that is needed.  This process will ensure that the air quality is normal, and the building is safe. For this reason, the middle school students will be on NTI for the remainder of the week.
