According to the Daviess County Emergency Management Agency, some churches will open this afternoon/evening to offer shelter during the potential severe weather, which includes a tornado threat. Officials recommend going to a shelter when a Tornado Watch is issued rather than waiting for a Tornado Warning.
As of 3:15 p.m., the following locations were listed as shelter options by DCEMA:
- Yellow Creek Baptist Church

Will open if/when the tornado siren goes off - Sts. Joseph and Paul Catholic Church
514 East 4th Street
Open from 2–8 p.m. or until the threat has passed - Owensboro Christian Church (Entrance “A”)
2818 New Hartford Road
Open from 2–8 p.m. or until the threat has passed
