For the first time in its 166-year history, Kentucky Wesleyan College is set to offer a master’s degree as it prepares to launch a Master of Business Administration (MBA) program in the fall of 2025.

The expansion is contingent on approval from the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC), which would allow KWC to officially confer graduate degrees.

“This is a special moment that was years in the making,” said KWC President James Cousins. “Our Master of Business Administration program will meet the needs of our students and fuel economic growth across the region. Other programs are in the making, and we’re thrilled to build upon our mission to deliver academic excellence and life-changing opportunities.”

The MBA program, led by founding director Dr. Rohnn Sanderson, aims to prepare students for leadership roles in an evolving global economy. It will offer flexible learning options, including online and in-person courses, to accommodate working professionals and traditional students.

“This is an exciting time for KWC,” Sanderson said. “We look forward to forming strong community partnerships and contributing to the continued growth and prosperity of Owensboro and the region.”

Applications for the MBA program are now open, with the first cohort expected to begin classes in fall 2025. More information is available at kwc.edu/apply.
