Holiday World & Splashin’ Safari is kicking off its hiring season, seeking to fill more than 2,000 positions for 2025. Applications are now open on the park’s website, and there will also be job fairs, phone interviews, and hiring events in the coming months.

The family-owned theme park will host multiple hiring events, including an in-person job fair on March 8 at Holiday World, as well as phone interview days on February 22 and March 15. Additional job fairs are scheduled for Owensboro on March 1 and Evansville on April 5.

Leah Koch-Blumhardt, fourth-generation owner and director of communications, said returning staff numbers are at an all-time high, limiting opportunities for new hires.

“We expect record-high return rates this season, so the openings for new hires are more limited than they’ve ever been,” Koch-Blumhardt said. “Most departments were fully staffed by May in 2024, so it’s important for anyone interested to submit an application and interview as early as possible.”

Holiday World offers a variety of seasonal positions across more than 30 departments, including ride operations, lifeguarding, food service, morning cleaning, and specialty roles such as EMTs and landscaping. Applicants must be at least 14 years old, though most positions require individuals to be 16 or older.

Perks for seasonal employees include a free season pass, discounts on food and merchandise, exclusive ride time at employee parties, and free admission to other amusement parks in the area. Starting wages are set at $13 per hour for those 16 and older, with lifeguards as young as 15 also earning the same rate.

“Working at Holiday World isn’t just about finding a fun summer job. It’s about learning how to treat every guest like family,” Koch-Blumhardt said. “Team members learn responsibility, build self-confidence, and make new friends.”

President and CEO Matt Eckert noted that the park’s staffing efforts have contributed to rising guest satisfaction scores in recent years.

“Our guest satisfaction scores have skyrocketed in the last three years, and that’s thanks to our incredible team and record staffing levels,” Eckert said. “Our new employee housing, Compass Commons, has allowed us to attract team members from around the country and the world, but our transportation program continues to be a success as well. Holiday World is an employer of choice — no matter your age, background, or experience.”

The park encourages applications from a wide range of candidates, including retirees and teachers looking for seasonal work. Employee housing is available for those at least 18 years old who live 50 miles or more from the park.

The 2025 season will be the longest in recent history, with 132 operating days and the return of Friday Night Live! in the fall.
