If your vehicle is due for renewal in January or February, you likely haven’t received a reminder notice via mail. However, January registration renewals are still due today and can be done without the notice.
Those needing to renew their registration and want to do so in person simply need to bring their plate number or VIN, driver’s license, and insurance card to the Motor Vehicle Department on the first floor of the Daviess County Courthouse from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Monday-Friday. Alternatively, drivers can renew online at drive.ky.gov.
According to the Daviess County Clerk’s Office, the USPS regional sorting facility in Louisville was impacted by back-to-back winter storms. The weather, coupled with an employee shortage, has contributed to mail and package delivery delays.
While the reminder notices have the County Clerks’ names and addresses, they are actually sent by the Kentucky Department of Revenue. The local clerks’ offices have not have control over mailing the notices.
“If you have not received your renewal notice in the mail, you’re more than welcome to call and ask one of the staff what your total is, so that way you’re prepared,” Daviess County Clerk Leslie McCarty said in a video released by Fiscal Court.
Anyone with questions can call the Daviess County Clerk’s Office at 270-685-8434 Ext. 1.
