Two Louisville men with multiple felony warrants were arrested Wednesday in Owensboro, according to the Daviess County Sheriff’s Office.
Detectives from the Daviess County Sheriff’s Office Special Investigations Unit, General Investigations Unit, and Patrol Division took Steven Brown and Darell Jewell into custody in the 4500 block of Frederica Street, according to a DCSO release.
The release says DCSO received information that Brown and Jewell were staying at Motel 6 on Frederica Street. According to DCSO, Jewell was wanted on a Daviess County warrant for failure to appear, as well as a Jefferson County warrant for parole violation and absconding, with underlying charges including attempted murder. Brown was wanted on a Jefferson County felony escape warrant for absconding from a treatment facility where he was serving a 5-year sentence after being convicted of methamphetamine trafficking and identity theft, according to DCSO.
The release says detectives observed the two walking from the motel to a nearby gas station in the 4600 block of Frederica Street, where they were detained and arrested. DCSO reported that they found methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia on both men, and that a search of their hotel room led to the discovery of additional paraphernalia, plastic baggies, and digital scales.
DCSO seized all evidence and lodged Brown and Jewell in the Daviess County Detention Center.
