The victim in Friday morning’s fatal crash at the intersection of 2nd Street and Ewing Road has been identified. The driver of the other vehicle could face criminal charges, according to the Owensboro Police Department.
Authorities said Brian Bedwell, 49, of Owensboro, was driving a Buick Rendezvous southbound on Ewing Road when his vehicle was struck by a Nissan Rogue, driven by David Biggs, 34, of Owensboro.
Bedwell was pronounced dead at the scene by the Daviess County Coroner’s Office, according to a release.
Biggs sustained severe injuries and was initially transported to Owensboro Health Regional Hospital by AMR, before being transferred to Louisville, OPD said. According to the release, the investigation is ongoing, and criminal charges may be considered based on the outcome.
