Competing against Apollo bowling their regular season finale, Daviess County’s coed team lost 6.5-05, with the Panthers tying the final baker game at 118. Taylor Curry bowled 178 and 193, while Hilton Abdon and Eoghan Nichols added 189 and 157.

The Panthers boys team won 5-2, with Evan Onstott leading the way with 202 and 235, while Lucas Tincher added 205 and 220. Kason Smith (220), Alec Jones (211), Conner Qualle (207, 202), and Nolan Ward all added big games.

For Apollo’s girls’ team, Sophie O’Bryan bowled 187 and 193, while Cassidy Joines rolled 200. Raleigh Shelton and Gracie Brown added 181 and 202.

“Our E-Gals bowlers pulled off a nice win yesterday against a mixed DC squad to continue their undefeated season in match play,” Apollo girls’ head coach Kerrie Franklin said. “We had several bowlers bowling above their season averages which is great to see leading into Region next weekend. The girls’ team missed going to the State tournament last year, but this team is coming together and working hard. They will be a contender to get back there this Saturday.”

On the boys’ side, Owen Miller rolled 226 and 195m while Landon Thompson bowled 258. Ryan Krampe and Andrew Smith both bowled 193.

“We struggled at first and it got us too far behind,” Apollo boys’ coach Brian McCormick said. “I thought we bounced back strong in the end and so I am pleased with the effort going into Region this weekend. We still have some work to do this week, but I am feeling good about it.”
