The 2025-26 academic calendar for Owensboro Public Schools has officially been approved, with Fall Break being one week later than usual. While Fall Break aligns for the local public school districts, they have different start dates.
The OPS calendar, approved Thursday by the district’s Board of Education, has Fall Break running from October 13-17, 2025, identical to Daviess County Public Schools.
However, OPS students will start school on August 7, 2025, while DCPS students will start on August 12. The final day for students in both districts will be May 15, 2026.
For both districts, Christmas Break will remain largely unchanged, spanning December 22, 2025, to January 2, 2026, with students returning on Monday, January 5. Spring Break is slated for April 6-10.
