McLean County took down Apollo, while Hancock County and Owensboro Catholic picked up wins.

McLean County 53, Apollo 23

Sarah Larkin hit two threes to go along with her team-high 12 points to help McLean County power past Apollo 53-23. Karlee Floyd was second on the team in scoring with 11 points, while Ella Larkin added 10 points.

For Apollo, Jessica Lee finished with seven points and four rebounds, while Mattingly Taylor added six points, eight rebounds, two assists, and one steal.

Hancock County 71, Evansville Bosse (Evansville), IN 65

Hancock County edged out a 71-65 win, led by Madyson Higdon’s 22 rebounds and Ansley House’s 11. Carolina Jones added 7 assists and 5 steals, contributing on both ends.

Jones led all scorers with 24 points, followed by Jordyn Waltrip with 15 and House with 13.

Owensboro Catholic 75, Northeast – Oakland Park (FL) 69

Competing in the Holiday Classic at Palm Beach, Karmin Riley hit six threes to go along with her game-high 22 points – helping fuel Owensboro Catholic to a 75-69 win over Northeast. Taylor Mannahan caught fire in the third quarter, scoring 11 of her 16 points, while Aubrey Randolph added 12 points.

“This was truly a gutsy performance and probably one of our better games,” Owensboro Catholic head coach Michael Robertson said. “We had some issues at the end of the game taking care of the ball, but that is something we will continue to work on. I am proud of the effort.”
