Trinity (Whitesville) 65, Owensboro Knights Christian 58
Will Hernandez exploded in the second quarter, scoring 11 of his team-high 21 points as Trinity beat the Owensboro Knights 65-58 in the Southwire Holiday Classic. Connor Hatfield was second on the team in scoring with 18 points, eight of which came in the fourth quarter. Ian Roby and Hayden Aull both added 12 points, while Harrison Barnett rounded out the teams scoring with two points.
“I am super proud of our guys. They came out focused and with a better energy after yesterday’s tough loss. Hayden Aull was phenomenal on the boards early, Will Hernandez did a great job of handling the point guard spot, Connor Hatfield took two big charges, and Ian Roby, Bransen Howard, and Grant Howard did an excellent job defensively. Hayden got hurt in the second half and battled through it and the rest of the guys chipped in by filling roles and doing things they normally don’t do because of injuries and being short a player. Overall, it was a great team win. Now, we will take some time off and get ready for the All-A Tournament.”
