DeAaron Watkins exploded for 31 points, grabbing seven rebounds, dishing out seven assists, and adding two steals. He shot an impressive 12-15 from the floor, including finishing 3-4 from deep.

Jonathan Moss added 14 points, five rebounds, three steals, and three assists, while Jaxon Brown recorded 10 points, four rebounds, and two steals.

“We bounced back with a strong performance,” Daviess County head coach Neil Hayden said. “DeAaron had a huge game and the team played well with lots of energy.”

Owensboro Catholic 78, Caverna 45

Looking to snap a four-game losing streak, 13 different Aces players scored as they cruised to a much-needed 78-45 win over Caverna. Waryn Ebelhar led the way with 21 points including three threes, while Luke Beickman scored 18 points – going 11-11 from the free-throw line.

“It feels good to have been able to practice for five days,” Owensboro Catholic head coach Tim Riley said. “The guys played really well and shared the ball. We received solid contributions from Luke and Waryn and Vince Carrico got his first game action this season. He really helps the team.”

Marshall County 48, Owensboro Catholic 45

The Aces couldn’t continue the momentum from their afternoon game, dropping a close one to Marshall County 48-45. Luke Beickman scored 19 of his team-high 25 points in the second half, going 9-11 from the free throw line while Dremail Carothers was second on the team in scoring with seven points.

Marion County 91, Trinity (Whitesville) 66

Despite a solid start that included scoring 19 points in the first quarter, the Raiders ran out of steam, falling to Marion County in the Marion County Christmas Tournament 91-66.

“Tonight was tough,” Trinity head coach Nathan West said. “We started off well, but as the game went on, our defensive intensity waned. Improving our team defense is the next step we have to take as a team.”
