Are you looking for opportunities to meet Santa, or maybe just searching for some holiday festivities to check out? Starting with the City’s annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony tonight, there are plenty of events for families this Christmas season. Here’s a list of some of the activities we know about that are planned over the next month.

November 22
- Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony – 5 p.m. at Smothers Park
The City of Owensboro’s Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony will take place downtown to kick off the Christmas season.

- Dancing Lights – 5 p.m. nightly at Smothers Park
The City’s holiday lights display will transform the park into an interactive light show.

- Owensboro Daviess County Christmas parade – 4:30 p.m. in downtown Owensboro
The official, multi-camera live stream of the event will be hosted exclusively on the Owensboro Times Facebook page.
Event Info - Wendell Foster’s Close-Ups with the Clauses – 10 a.m.-1 p.m. at 815 Triplett Street
This free event includes pictures with Santa and Mrs. Claus along with activities. A sensory-friendly hour from 10 a.m.-11 a.m. gives individuals on the autism spectrum a calming and quiet environment to meet Santa and Mrs. Claus.

Experience a drive-thru light display at Panther Creek.

- Energy on Ice – Hours vary, Fridays and Saturdays only at the Kentucky Legend Pier
The Kentucky Legend Pier will be transformed to a synthetic ice rink.

The Holiday Hustle 5k is back for the 3rd year in a row.

A downtown bar crawl with a $10 entry fee that benefits WBKR’s Christmas Wish.

- Santa at the WeatherBerry House – 1-4 p.m. at the WeatherBerry House at the Western Kentucky Botanical Garden
There will be free crafts, candy canes, and pictures with Santa.

- Rhonda Vincent Christmas Concert – 7-8:30 p.m. at the Bluegrass Music Hall of Fame & Museum
Rhonda Vincent will take over the Bluegrass Music Hall of Fame to perform a Christmas Concert.

- The Life and Adventures of Santa Claus – Theatre Workshop of Owensboro
The Theatre Workshop of Owensboro will tell the story of St. Nicholas.

- Owensboro Lions Club breakfast with Santa – 8 a.m.-11 a.m. at Walnut Memorial Church
The Owensboro Lions Club is hosting a pancake breakfast with Santa. - Daviess County Lions Club breakfast with Santa- 8 a.m.-12 p.m. at Bittle Hall at the fairgrounds
The Daviess County Lions Club is hosting a pancake and sausage breakfast with Santa. - Reindeer Experience – 10 a.m.-5 p.m. at Owensboro Museum of Science and History
Visitors will have the opportunity to take a photo with Santa and meet the reindeer.
Event Info - Christmas in the Park – 11 a.m.-2 p.m. at the Jim Lambert Pioneer Village in Yellow Creek Park
Live music, food trucks, petting zoo, merchants, photo ops, Santa Claus, and Candy Cane Hunt.

The 10th Annual Care Net Reindeer Run/Walk is open to walkers and runners.

The Annual Holiday Stroll will include a gnome scavenger hunt, live music, downtown shopping, and a coffee and cocktail crawl.

Owensboro Dance Theatre and The German American Bank present the production of The Nutcracker.

A Charlie Brown Christmas: Live on Stage will take the audience on a journey with the Peanuts gang to find the true meaning of Christmas.

- Lanham Brothers Jamboree Christmas Show – 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. at the Bluegrass Music Hall of Fame & Museum
Brothers Randy and Berry Lanham will host the Jamboree and many other guests will be featured throughout the annual Christmas Show.

Troy Quinn and the Owensboro Symphony is bringing along Tony-nominated singer Liz Callaway as well as the Owensboro Symphony Youth Orchestra for the production of Home for the Holidays.

Enjoy free hot chocolate, cookies, crafts, and a visit with Santa.
December 21
- Breakfast with Santa – 7:30 a.m.-10 a.m. at the Owensboro Convention Center
The 7th Annual Breakfast with Santa includes free photos with St. Nick along with the opportunity to write letters to Santa.
