Despite forcing a pair of fumbles in the first quarter, the Panthers (1-7) couldn’t take advantage – eventually falling 35-7 to Henderson County (3-5) Friday evening. Daviess County’s offense was held in check, accumulating 81 total yards.

After gaining 17 yards on their opening drive, the Panthers punted but were handed the football right back after recovering a fumble on the punt return. At the Colonels 43, Daviess County only gained three yards before being forced to punt.

Five plays into Henderson County’s drive and Panther’s defense forced their second straight fumble, this time recovering it on the Colonels’ 31. Once again, the Panthers’ defense failed to capitalize, losing six yards before punting.

After a scoreless first quarter, the Colonels entered halftime leading 21-0 – scoring off of a 75-yard fumble recovery, and a pair of touchdown passes for 44 and 47 yards. In the third quarter, Henderson County went up 35-0 after running in two touchdowns from seven and six yards out.

The Panther’s lone touchdown of the game occurred in the fourth quarter when QB Garrison Barker found Jace Hunt from eight yards out.

Next Friday Daviess County hosts McCracken County.
