After a rough first day where they shot 346, the Lady Panthers bounced back Saturday morning, shooting 337 to finish with a 683, good for fifth overall. Sacred Heart won the tournament, shooting 626, while Maddison Central and Lexington Christian rounded out the top three. South Warren finished in fourth, just one stroke ahead of Daviess County.
“The girls thought to the end and are disappointed they didn’t come in fourth,” Daviess County head coach Jonas Billingsley said. “I wish we could have played a bit better yesterday to get a top four, maybe a top three finish. It’s golf and the Bowling Green Country Club was not easy this weekend. Hard and fast greens.”
Claire Reynolds led the Lady Panthers with a 154, tying her for seventh overall. After she shot 81 on day one, she rebounded with a 73 yesterday. Alexa Salamah (164), Briley Billingsley (176), and Baylie Billingsley (189) rounded out the Lady Panther’s lowest scores.
“Briley played fantastic, shooting a pair of 88s,” Coach Billingsley said. “Alexa played unbelievably today and played well yesterday. Claire played great today shooting 73 and getting a top-seven finish. Claire will be first team all-state which is a great accomplishment for her.”
