Gulfstream Commercial Services officials responded to social media reports suggesting several new retailers will soon open at Gateway Commons. While the company confirmed negotiations are underway with potential businesses, they clarified that each negotiation is at different stages.
The information suggested that HomeGoods, Old Navy, Sierra, Boot Barn, and Buckle, among others, would soon open in the shopping center. Officials clarified that it plans to continue developing retail, dining, and entertainment options in Gateway Commons and that some of the companies mentioned are at the top of their list.
They said that bringing top retailers to Owensboro and Gateway Commons, like the ones mentioned, is a top priority.
Gulfstream officials explained that internal marketing materials meant to attract retailers were accessed by the public, leading to some confusion.
In August, the company announced that Publix Super Markets had executed a lease on a new store in Gateway Commons.
Development for Gateway Commons began in 2017 as part of a multi-phase project to bring retail, dining, and entertainment options to Owensboro. It’s located on Hayden Road off KY 54.
