Cromwell Media recently announced it was transitioning from 100.5 The Vibe to 100.5 The Party. The company said The Party will be a top 40 station featuring contemporary hit radio, replacing the nostalgic mix of classic hip hop.
In a release, Cromwell said it’s “dedicated to bringing the community of Daviess County the latest and greatest in today’s music plus things to do in the Owensboro area.”
The Vibe filled the local airwaves for eight years, and Cromwell Media’s general manager said it was time for a change.
“Our listeners can expect an upbeat, engaging experience that connects with the community,” he said.
He said the new station will provide the perfect soundtrack for the busy lifestyles of most in the community. Kidd Kraddick will host the morning show, followed by other DJs in the afternoon and on weekends.
Cromwell emphasized that The Party would be more than just a radio station and an integral part of the community. The release said listeners can expect regular shout-outs, interviews with local personalities and artists of various genres, and opportunities for listeners to interact and win exciting prizes.
“100.5 The Party is Daviess County’s new go-to station for CHR/top 40 hits,” the release said. “Dedicated to serving the entire community with the latest music, exciting events, and engaging content, we aim to be your soundtrack for every occasion.”
The transition began this weekend in anticipation of Labor Day celebrations.
