Several first response agencies will be in action for a joint safety and rescue exercise Friday morning at the Owensboro Municipal Utilities Training & Development Center at 1601 East 4th Street. The community is being alerted to the presence of emergency responders in the area for the event.
OMU personnel is putting on the event in collaboration with the Owensboro Fire Department, Owensboro Police Department, AMR Ambulance, and AirEvac.
OMU crews have staged a mock incident in which a utility pole was broken and energized lines are laying across a vehicle.
The exercise is intended to allow emergency and utility entities to work together and review their protocols.
