In a competitive match, Owensboro Catholic edged past Hancock County by one strike to win the All “A” Region Tournament at The Pearl Club on Thursday. The Aces advance to the All “A” State Tournament, as do a pair of individuals from Hancock County.

The Aces shot a 157, led by Houston Danzer’s 38. Right behind him was Luke Estes with a 39, while the trio of John William Wathen, Hayden Crabtree, and Tanner McFadden all shot 40.

“I was proud of how hard we’ve worked the last week,” head coach Mark Price said. “We’ve worked on our short game and scoring. We had one or two bad holes, but I couldn’t be happier for them.”

Hancock County’s Dec Lewko won the individual title with a round of 37. Jaxon Blake, Jacob Shultz, Kolby Keown, and Ethan Heavrin rounded out the scoring for the Hornets with a 39, 40, 42, and 42, respectively. Lewko and Blake advanced to the state tournament by posting the two best rounds for players not on Owensboro Catholic’s team.

Trinity Whitesville was led by Hayden Aull with a 60, and McLean County’s low round came from Treyson Blades with a 63.
