Owensboro and Apollo both cruised to victories on Saturday.
Owensboro 1, Meade County 0
Lily Nieman scored the only goal of the game as the Lady Devils shutout Meade County 1-0. Keeper Haley Sikes recorded 10 saves, while Georgia Warren led the defensive effort.
“We thought hard against Meade County with both teams having a lot of chances on goal,” Owensboro High School head coach Sarah Poole said. “The team had decent chemistry today, which helped the game result in a win.”
Apollo 6, Crittenden County 2
Lili Ruth and Jada Pollard both scored twice as Apollo beat Crittenden County 6-2. Thewy Wah and Kara Green rounded out the scoring. Ruth, Green, Wah, and Kensli Yeiser all recorded assists.
