Owensboro and Owensboro Catholic each played to draws in their respective matches, while Daviess County was shut out at home.
Owensboro 2, South Warren 2
Denis Juma and Byaruhanga Mutabazi both scored in the first half as the Red Devils drew with South Warren 2-2 at home. Despite a 2-0 first-half lead, Owensboro faltered in the second half in part due to Romer Payne and Brian Payne both drawing red cards and multiple key players being out sick or injured.
“I am very proud of our guys playing a high-caliber team like South Warren so short-handed,” Owensboro head coach Ryan Haley said.
Owensboro Catholic 0, Grayson County 0
Owensboro Catholic goalie Ben Dawson recorded three saves in a scoreless draw against Grayson County on the road. The Aces finished with 18 shots, nine of them on goal. Grayson County had four shots, three of them on goal.
Madisonville North Hopkins 4, Daviess County 0
Madisonville built up a 2-0 lead by halftime, and the Panthers couldn’t capitalize on a few score opportunities down the stretch in a 4-0 loss at home.
