The brief storm system that hit Owensboro just before noon caused a power outage that is affecting numerous traffic intersections and approximately 2,300 Owensboro Municipal Utilities customers.
Some intersections along Frederica Street and J.R. Miller Bouelvard and the roads connecting them, roughly from West Byers Avenue to 18th Street, are without power.
OMU officials said about 2,300 customers are without power. The OMU outage map shows the power went out at 11:36 a.m.
Crews are currently working on the issue but a restoration time is unknown at this time.
