Update, July 10: The Owensboro Police Department announced Thursday morning that 8-year-old Kataya Moorman was found overnight by the McLean County Sheriff’s Department. OPD began a search for the missing child Tuesday night after she was taken by her grandmother, Sarah Luttrell, who did not have custody of Moorman.
Moorman has been safely returned to her family and Luttrell has been taken into custody.

Owensboro woman Sarah Luttrell is missing after taking her 8-year-old granddaughter Kataya Moorman, according to the Owensboro Police Department. The agency is actively looking for Kataya and Luttrell, who does not have custody over the child.
Moorman is 8 years old and has brown hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing black shorts and a black shirt with the number 54 on it. The shirt has flowers with a blue and pink background around the number 54. Her shoes were rose gold sandals, and her hair was in a ponytail.
According to OPD, Luttrell was last seen around 12:00 today near Friendship Drive. She may be driving a 2014 black Nissan Sentra with the Kentucky license plate 974 RWH. In the past, Luttrell has been charged with custodial interference.
OPD Public Information Officer Mark Hammonds said the investigation is ongoing.
