Robert E. Alvey, 39, of Owensboro, was arrested Monday morning by Daviess County Sheriff’s Office after threatening his mother with a knife.
DCSO responded to a call on the 6800 block of Leslie Lane where the caller stated Alvey, her son, was in her home armed with a knife and causing a disturbance. When DCSO arrived, Alvey fled the scene into nearby woods, unable to be located.
According to DCSO reports, at 6:34 a.m. on Monday, it was learned that Alvey had returned to the property and broken into the home’s back door. Alvey was located and then fled from the scene upon DCSO’s arrival. DCSO then located Alvey’s possessions, including multiple screwdrivers, yet Alvey was not on the scene.
At 10:51 a.m., DCSO learned that Alvey had returned to the property’s porch yet again. It was at this time that DCSO staff apprehended Alvey without incident before he could flee.
Alvey is now held at the Daviess County Detention Center with the following charges:
- Burglary – 1st Degree
- Criminal Mischief – 2nd Degree
- Terroristic Threatening Menacing
- Possession of Burglary Tools
- Assault – 4th Degree (Minor Injury)
