OPD: Victim’s name released in fatal accident Friday night

Update, 12:30 p.m., May 13, 2024 Coroner Jeff Jones has confirmed 25-year-old Morgan Culyer-Foster was the victim in Friday’s fatal car accident.

Jones confirmed that Cuyler-Foster died from blunt force trauma, as reported by an autopsy.

Update, 11:00 a.m. — A Utica man has been charged with vehicular manslaughter and leaving the scene of an accident in a fatal accident Friday night, according to Owensboro Police Department. One victim died from their injuries.

One individual was life-flighted with severe injuries, while another person was taken to Owensboro Health Regional Hospital with severe injuries, according to OPD.

OPD identified Maddox Hall, 20, of Utica, as the driver of the second vehicle. He was arrested and charged with the following:

  • Operating Motor Vehicle U/influence Alc (Agg Cir)
  • Vehicular Homicide When Under the Influence of Alcohol
  • Wanton Endangerment 1st Degree (4 counts)
  • Leaving the Scene of Accident/Fail to REN/Assist W/ Death or Serious Phys Injuries

Owensboro Police Accident Reconstruction Unit responded to the scene to continue the investigation. Anyone with additional information can call OPD at 270-687-8888, or leave an anonymous tip with Crime Stoppers at 270-687-8484.

Update, 10:30 p.m. — The Owensboro Police Department is on the scene of a multi-vehicle accident on New Hartford Road. Reporters on scene said all traffic was stopped.

An OPD official confirmed they responded to a call about an accident with injuries in the 3400 block of New Hartford Road, just north of the bypass intersection. The OPD said he could not confirm the number of people involved or the severity of the injuries at this time.

OPD’s accident reconstruction crew is active on the scene, and the road is closed to traffic.
