Will Leachman and his two daughters came home and have their own space after receiving a ‘hand up’ from the Alma Randolph Charitable Foundation.

Leachman said they have used the foundation for the annual shopping at the start of the year, so knowing this organization helps when the family needs it, and it has always been a comfort.

For Leachman, providing for his daughters and securing a home for them in this new season of their lives has been very important. He noted the girls’ mother passed from liver complications this past year.

“I’m lost for words right now. I feel overwhelmed, but I’m truly happy to feel blessed and thankful. I’m very appreciative of everything that has taken place to understand this is what humbleness is,” he said.

To him, home means a safe space and salvation from the challenges of the outside world. He hopes to provide that for his daughters and be an example of perseverance through grief.

“This will be their first Mother’s Day [without her]. This right here is just something to really just help them get through the day and get through the moment without anything negative,” he said.

After participating in the HUTS program and shopping for back-to-school clothes, Leachman is reminded of the impact that organizations like the Alma Randolph Foundation have on families like his own.

“You hear about certain organizations, and you can see that, but you get the full experience of that person behind the organization. She is truly authentic with that, and she is a blessing,”  she said.
