The Women’s Guild of Owensboro will host its 2024 Luncheon at the home of Dr. Michael and Mrs. Beth Kelley at 2144 Bittel Road in Owensboro on May 8 and 9. The event will run from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. each day, and 100 percent of the proceeds will benefit nonprofits in the community.

This marks the 83rd year for the event, which offers the same menu each year, highlighted by the famous chicken salad and Grace’s sweet tea. The Women’s Guild is collaborating with locally renowned chef Matt Weafer of Niko’s Bakery and Cafe to offer scratch-made biscuits.

“This exclusive opportunity to walk through the Kelley residence during the Women’s Guild Luncheon promises a feast for the senses and a chance to connect with fellow community members over a delightful and timeless meal,” said luncheon chair Missie Hayden.

Hayden said the Women’s Guild of Owensboro has served Owensboro for over 80 years, and the luncheon is its premiere fundraiser.

“As guests indulge in the culinary delights prepared with love, they’ll find themselves immersed in an atmosphere of camaraderie and shared appreciation for the arts and architecture – a true celebration of the vibrant spirit that defines Owensboro,” she said.

The Guild is limited to 80 active members at one time, and the luncheon generates excitement around the organization. All members play a role in the event, from servers to hostesses to photographers.

“When attendees step through the inviting threshold of 2144 Bittel Road, they’re enveloped

in an ambiance of understated luxury and hospitality,” Hayden said. “Every corner of this enchanting home reflects the Kelleys’ passion for artistry and attention to detail.”

Tickets to the event are $30 and can be purchased at the door or in advance through Venmo. To RSVP, email [email protected]

“Join us for an unforgettable afternoon of elegance, togetherness, and philanthropy at the Women’s Guild Luncheon, where the Kelley home opens its doors to welcome all who seek inspiration and connection,” Hayden said.
