Daviess County and Owensboro both had comfortable wins in their second games in the Tonya Wells Christmas Classic.
DCHS 59, Madisonville North-Hopkins 38
Daviess County had no trouble taking down Madisonville in a 59-38 win. They started the game off strong with a 13-5 lead at the end of the first quarter. DCHS ran away with the lead in the second quarter after outsourcing Madisonville 20-7. They outscored Madisonville in the second half to go on to win 59-38.
Leading scoring for the Lady Panthers was Kennedy Lane with 19 points. Following close behind was Lily Hoagland with 18 points and 3 three-pointers during the game.
OHS 66, Webster Co. 39
Owensboro had a blowout 66-39 win over Webster County for their second game in the tournament. They took a hold on the game early as they ended the first quarter with a 23-11 lead. They didn’t look back as they continued to outscore Webster in the next two quarters to extend their lead. They closed out the game at 66-39.
Leading the Lady Red Devils in scoring was Shalyn Sprinkles with 16 points. Following behind was Heleina John with 12 points.
