The inaugural Big “O” Volleyball Tournament is coming to Owensboro Convention Center on March 23-24, 2024. More than 50 teams are expected to compete in the 2-day “club-level” event.

Pool play will be held on Saturday with bracket play on Sunday, and organizers said teams are guaranteed 5 matches. Trophies and medals will go to 1st and 2nd place in all age divisions.

The event is being put on by JPO Sports, owned by Joseph O’Neal.

“We are grateful for this unique opportunity to bring our experiences to Owensboro. Our partnership with JVA, Owensboro Convention Center, and Visit Owensboro will help us offer a great tournament experience for all the athletes and spectators,” O’Neal said.

O’Neal brings years of national tournament experience working as a head official at events such as the JVA World Challenge and Adidas Bluegrass Tournament in Louisville, the JVA West Coast Cup, the Triple Crown Volleyball National Invitational Tournament, and the AAU Girls National Championships.

Former JVA National Director of Events Steve Bailey is joining the Big “O” staff as the tournament director.
