Due to air quality conditions, Planet Fitness is opening its Hwy 54 location and its three other locations in the area to anyone who wants to work out indoors through Sunday, July 2 free of charge.
This offer includes the Owensboro location, two Evansville locations, and the Henderson location.
Because of the state of the air quality caused by wildfires in Canada, National Weather Service has issued that people greatly limit their outdoor activity to reduce their exposure to ozone and particulate pollution.
“With four Planet Fitness clubs in and around the Evansville area, we want to make sure those who normally exercise outdoors have a safe option to avoid unhealthy air quality levels,” said GlowBrands CEO Rick Kueber who leads the Evansville-area Planet Fitness franchisee group. “We hope this free access gives everyone the opportunity to exercise safely and continue their healthy habits.”
The location at 3621 KY-54 is open all day Thursday and closes Friday at 10 p.m. Saturday and Sunday they are open from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.
All Planet Fitness locations offer more than 100 cardio and strength equipment pieces, 30-Minute Circuit training areas and functional training as well as amenities such as full-service locker rooms, tanning, massage chairs and HydroMassage beds.
Planet Fitness is known for its affordable memberships and wide range of fitness equipment, as well as its “lunk alarm,” which is used to discourage grunting and loud behavior in the gym.
