One person died in a house fire on Walnut Street late Saturday night, according to the Owensboro Fire Department.
According to their Facebook post, OFD was dispatched at 10:57 p.m. due to a neighbor reporting smoke from a structure. OFD responded along with Owensboro Police Department and AMR ambulance to find a building in the back yard of a home with light smoke showing.
According to OFD, while performing an interior primary search Engine 1 personnel located a male occupant who was found to be deceased. The Daviess County Coroner was called to the scene.
The fire was extinguished quickly and no one else was found to be in harm’s way due to the smoke or fire, according to OFD.
