The Green River District Health Department reported 300 new confirmed COVID-19 infections and 13 coronavirus-related deaths on Tuesday — with 158 cases and 5 deaths in Daviess County. The newly reported cases were investigated over the last 7-day period.

The current 7-day average is 42.9 new cases per day for the seven-county region. The latest report did not provide county-by-county statistics.

The CDC recently announced a new tool to help communities decide what prevention steps to take based on the latest COVID-19 data. COVID-19 Community Levels for every county can be found here.

Levels can be low, medium, or high and are determined by looking at hospital beds being used, hospital admissions, and the total number of new COVID-19 cases in an area.

Daviess County is currently classified as a high level.
