A 16-year-old female has been charged with nine counts of theft of a firearm, according to the Owensboro Police Department. One of the nine firearms stolen was recovered during a shooting investigation that occurred on Jan. 22, when a juvenile male was shot one time.
The juvenile female was additionally charged with one count of theft from a building (more than $1,000).
The Jan. 22 shooting incident occurred at approximately 12:20 a.m. According to reports, OPD responded to the 3900 block of Carpenter Drive, where a juvenile male was located with a single gunshot wound and transported to Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. An occupied residence was also struck several times, but no one inside was injured.
