The Senior Community Center of Owensboro-Daviess County will be closed through the remainder of week due to COVID-19 cases among the staff. The Meals on Wheels program is on hold but officials hope to restart it on Thursday.

The center had to close last Wednesday because of the COVID-19 cases, but continued delivering meals through Friday. However, the number of staff testing positive increased, so the center is staying closed with hopes of reopening on Jan. 24.

The center delivers about 360 meals weekly to seniors throughout Daviess County.

The Senior Community Center is located at 1650 W. 2nd St.
