A person was shot Tuesday evening but is believed to have non-life-threatening injuries. Owensboro Police Department officials said they responded to a call on W. 9th Street where the victim was found.
A separate shooting incident on W. 9th Street was reported earlier in the day, but OPD officials said there is no indication at this point that the incidents are related.
According to a release, OPD responded at approximately 7:57 p.m. to the 2400 block of W. 9th Street for a reported shooting. An adult male was located with a single gunshot wound and transported to Owensboro Health Regional Hospital.
The other incident, where a vehicle and occupied residence were both struck multiple times by gunfire, occurred at approximately 10:19 a.m. in the 1600 block of W. 9th Street.
Both incidents are under investigation.
