Owensboro native Jon Brennan is making the return to reality television in the new season of Paramount+’s The Real World: Homecoming, which will be released on Nov. 24.
Brennan was 18 at the time he arrived on MTV’s screen for the second season of the original show, The Real World. In the first episode of the show, Brennan was met by two of his housemates at his childhood home in Owensboro before embarking on a cross-country drive to Los Angeles, making him one of only three housemates to be in every episode of that season.
“More than miles separate Owensboro, Kentucky, from Venice Beach,” Brennan’s bio from his original season read. “But that’s just what excites country singer Jon about making the move west. Jon is taking a semester off from Belmont University in Nashville to pursue his music career in Los Angeles and to live with six strangers.”
On his original season, Brennan was known for drinking lots of Kool-Aid, his religion and wanting to be a country artist. The first episode opened on Brennan performing at the then-Goldie’s Best Little Opry House on Frederica Street.
After six months of living in the house, Brennan’s housemates described him as the one who changed the most after his time.
The second season will follow Brennan, Beth Anthony, Beth Stolarczyk, David Edwards, Glen Naessens, Irene Berrera-Kearns and Tami Roman in their same Venice Beach house from the 1993 show.
