A 17-year-old male was shot on Holly Avenue and has been taken to the hospital, according to the Owensboro Police Department. The extent of the victim’s injury are unknown at this time.
According to a release, OPD responded to the 900 block of Holly Avenue at approximately 2:40 p.m. for a reported firearm discharge. Officers located a 17-year-old male with a single gunshot wound, and he was transported to Owensboro Health Regional Hospital.
Detectives are currently investigating.
