Multiple agencies responded to a fire at Ernesto’s Mexican Bar & Grill in Wesleyan Park Plaza late Thursday night. The cause of the fire is under investigation. The restaurant opened earlier this year on March 9.

According to Owensboro Fire Department, they responded to a call at 11:19 p.m. Heavy black smoke was coming from the building upon arrival.

OFD “proceeded with an aggressive attack that went interior. The fire was quickly brought under control with safe scene operations reliant on teamwork and proper risk assessment.”
