Owensboro Christian Church has moved worship services online for the next two weeks.
Church officials announced Friday that “in consideration of the public health concerns related to COVID-19, and in solidarity with other containment efforts made over the past 48 hours, we have made the decision to move the weekend worship services at Owensboro Christian Church online for at least the next two weeks, that includes Sunday, March 15 and March 22.”
The post also said:
Will we one day look back on this and similar decisions and think it was all an overreaction? Honestly, I don’t know. I hope so. The coronavirus is an evolving situation. Like you and many others, we have read, listened, consulted, dialogued, and prayed. We’re in uncharted territory here, which means community leaders are having to make difficult decisions in a short amount of time with limited information. Moving worship online was a difficult decision for us, but it’s also a wonderful opportunity.
We’re not closing our doors; we’re moving corporate worship online in solidarity with other containment efforts.
We are not retreating from our community but intentionally engaging with you and others in strategic ways during this unique and temporary season.
We are not acting out of fear but out of responsibility and love of neighbor.
So, please join us online this weekend, Sunday at 9:15 a.m., 10:45 a.m., and 5:30 p.m. Invite others. You can find the service by going to the “watch” tab on our website www.owensboro.cc and clicking “watch live.”
