On Feb. 29, the Junior League of Owensboro will celebrate its annual charity ball with an evening in Old Havana. The Junior League’s 54th Annual Charity Ball, will feature 17 local young men and women serving as Junior Hosts and Hostesses.
There will be Cuban cuisine from The Bauerhaus, mojitos and cigars, along with music from Diamond Empire Band. The event also has a Silent Auction District where attendees can bid on a selection of items and experiences donated by local businesses.
All proceeds from Charity Ball directly benefit the local community through the work of the women of the Junior League in pursuit of their mission to Empower OBKY.
“We are excited to celebrate this gorgeous piece of history in our theme this year,” said Charity Ball Chair, Jessica Woods. “In the exploration era, Old Havana was a major port linking the Old World and the New World. As we step into a new decade, we honor the traditions of our ancestors, grow with our community, and build connections across generations.”
Doors will open for this black-tie event at 6 p.m., with a plated dinner served at 7 p.m., and the presentation of Junior Hosts and Hostesses will be at 8 p.m. In the festive spirit of Old Havana, the band will continue playing late into the night.
