Friends of Sinners, a Christ-centered recovery program for men and women, have started receiving gifts in the mail today from strangers across Owensboro.

Owensboro Times recently reported on a women’s group on Facebook that went viral. The group is called “Gifting for Women,” and the purpose of the group is for women to upload their Amazon wish list to the page and to anonymously send gifts to other women. The group now has more than 73,000 women and is growing.

Jordan Wilson, development director at Friends of Sinners, said the idea caught on and some good Samaritans decided to make one for people in need and nonprofits. The Facebook group is called “Gifts of Love” and has 600 members.

Wilson said Friends of Sinners joined on Friday and has already received some donations in the mail.

“This is a great way to show love to those in need,” Wilson said.
