Kentucky ranked third fattest state in the U.S.

November is National Diabetes Awareness Month and earlier this month the personal-finance website WalletHub released a report on 2019’s Fattest States in America .

Kentucky ranked third.

To determine which states contribute the most to America’s overweight and obesity problem, compared the study the 50 states and the District of Columbia across 29 key metrics. They range from the overweight and obese population to sugary-beverage consumption among adolescents to obesity-related health care costs.

8th – % of Obese Adults
3rd – % of Overweight Children
6th – % of Obese Children
1st – % of Physically Inactive Adults
2nd – % of Adults with High Cholesterol
11th – % of Adults eating Llss than one serving of fruits/vegetables per day
7th – % of Adults with Type 2 Diabetes
6th – % of Adults with Hypertension
29th – Obesity-Related Death Rate
