CSX Railroad plans an extended closure of KY 2155/Triplett Street and West 9th Street in Owensboro starting Nov. 4.
The southbound one-way section of KY 2155/Triplett Street will be closed at mile point 2.652 to allow rail crossing work. This is in the 1000 block of Triplett Street immediately at the East 11th Street intersection.
West 9th Street will be closed between Maple Street and Poplar Street to allow rail crossing work. This is in the 1000 block of West 9th Street.
The railroad expects to close these two sites at approximately 7 a.m. on Monday. Both locations are expected to reopen to traffic sometime in the afternoon of Nov. 9.
The City of Owensboro is assisting with detours for each location.
This section of KY 2165 carries approximately 4,800 vehicles on an average day.
