The National Weather Service (NWS) in Paducah has issued a frost advisory, which is in effect from 3-8 a.m. Saturday.
The lowest temperatures tonight are forecast to be in the lower to middle 30s.
A frost advisory means that widespread frost is expected. Sensitive outdoor plants may be killed if left uncovered. Young blooms and early season vegetation may be damaged or killed if protective measures aren’t taken.
Bring outdoor plants indoors or cover them with some type of protective layer.
“Frost is possible late tonight,” NWS states. “In the wake of a strong cold front, much cooler air will spread across the region tonight. We are about two weeks ahead of when the normal first frost of the season is.”
NWS also stated that frost would mostly be in outlying and sheltered areas. Some areas may see little to no frost. It should burn off quickly early Saturday morning, shortly after the sun is up.
