Beginning at 5 p.m. Friday there will be a temporary flight restriction (TFR) for all of Owensboro due to this weekend’s air show. The restriction is in effect until 11 p.m. Sunday.

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) defines a temporary flight restriction as “a certain area of airspace where air travel is limited.”

All of Owensboro falls in the core of the TFR, which is the airspace in the radius of five nautical miles from downtown Owensboro.
No-fly zone.

The following is a full list of operations not authorized during the TFR: flight training, practice instrument approaches, aerobatic flight, glider operations, parachute operations, ultralight, hang gliding, balloon operations, agriculture/crop dusting, animal population control flight operations, banner towing operations, sightseeing operations, maintenance test flights, model aircraft operations, model rocketry, unmanned aircraft systems (UAS), and utility and pipeline survey operations.
