The Owensboro-Daviess County Christmas Parade Association is currently accepting applications for its 2019 event.

The parade, which is known for being the first Christmas parade in the state every year is at 4:30 p.m. Nov. 23.

The theme for this year’s parade is “Christmas Memories“.

Early bird rates are in effect until October 31. Applications can be found at www.christmasparade.net.

Catherine Byrne, secretary of the Owensboro-Daviess County Christmas Parade Association said every participant in the parade is required to fill out an entry application, whether for a float, vehicle, or walking entry. All vendors selling at the parade must also fill out the appropriate application.

“There is nothing like the magic of Christmas, and what better way to celebrate than seeing how many parade participants will incorporate their own special Christmas memories into their beautiful floats,” she said. “With our hectic lifestyle today, how often do we take a couple of hours to sit with our loved ones and enjoy the sights and sounds of Christmas? The Owensboro-Daviess County Christmas Parade is a great opportunity to spend quality time with family and enjoy the talents and creativity of the many community members who enter the parade each year.”

Parade applications must be submitted via the parade website before midnight Nov. 11.
